Dursban In Your Water ? "Under the Radar of Regulators"

Trouble at Dow .......
Their Unethical Business Decision Process

There are many more issues involving Dow which are being brought forth. Shareholders of Dow stock may want to fully understand all the liabilities with which Dow is involved. According to the conclusions of several groups, Dow stockholders are being deceived. They are being deceived by the information Dow reports publicly concerning the magnitude and number of liabilities the company is actually involved with due to Dow's business practices and decisions.

Dow In Deep Denial?

Shareholders of Dow Chemical are aware of some of the significant problems at Dow and have formally asked the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate misleading statements by Dow management concerning the company’s potential environmental and personal injury liabilities. The shareholders’ letter of August 10, 2004, also references a 2004 report by Innovest financial advisors that reports that Dow has failed to disclose in its SEC filings potential liabilities related to Agent Orange, the chemical defoliant used in the Vietnam War, and relating to Dursban, one of Dow's many chlorpyrifos brand names.

"The Innovest report indicates that Dow failed to disclose in statements to investors its record setting $2 million settlement of a consumer fraud lawsuit brought by the New York State Attorney General in 2003. The payment, which set the record for a consumer pesticides suit, settled charges that Dow had falsely advertised Dursban as safe, when it is believed (known) to be associated with illness in thousands of exposed people, including potential neurological damage to children. Dow had previously been fined over $730,000 for failing to disclose adverse effects associated with the use of and exposure to Dursban."4

Note: Dow was actually repeatedly fined for habitually failing to report adverse incidents. Those fines amount to about $1,000,000. The $732,000 fine mentioned above was actually the first fine for a series of Dow falsified reporting problems discovered by the EPA. Dow has continued the same practice even after the fines.

Shareholders shouldn't be startled to learn they still have many more liabilities to uncover which Dow is hiding. They are still unaware of many issues brought forth in the material of this website. And there are even more that we have now learned of that are equally significant. Dow is heavily involved in fraudulent activities and it's ethics may be going to a new low. Here's a link to a website dealing with Dow's ethics or lack of them - dowethics.com
